Sable Gate Winery is a family owned business in the heart of Midtown in Houston, TX. We craft wines from grapes sourced from the World's finest vineyards. We are craftsman of wine and we want to share our passion with Houston!
Our guests can blend their own personal vintage, bottle and custom label it -all inside of our operating winery- and enjoy some simple dishes that pair perfectly with wine! Guest can taste, have a glass or a bottle of wine of over 30 varietals.

We stumbled upon this urban winery and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered a bottle of the Bikini Bottom which is a sangria and a vegan pizza. Our server was Hailey and she was super friendly and very helpful. When you get a chance stop by and check this gem out.

Our experience was very pleasant. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Fortunately, we had a reservation, as I saw several people come and go because they had not made a reservation. When we arrived, it was almost empty, but it was hopping by the time we left at 8:00. We ordered the charcuterie and the Sommelier Wine Flight. The server was very attentive to my tastes, described the wines as he brought them in a very informative way, and he even changed out the final wine because of my preferences. I ended up taking home a couple of bottles, and it was a very pleasant evening. The place has a night-life vibe, very energetic, yet we didn’t feel like it was too noisy to be able to enjoy our date.The only thing I would change would be a more varied menu. Although it seems like the draw for the place is the wine and the experience, so understandably, the dinner menu may not be a priority. We got the charcuterie board, and then ended up going somewhere else afterward to get dinner. We didn’t mind that, but it would have been nice to have some more menu options other than the charcuterie and pizza to choose from and I probably would have stayed longer and ordered another glass or two ofwine.Overall, it was a nice experience, and we will definitely be returning.

We just happened upon this little jewel in midtown Houston. This was THE BEST wine tasting experience I have ever had. Owner Szilvia was very attentive and taught us so much about about their wine. The wines were great! We also shared a charcuterie board and a pizza. Delicious food! We will definitely go back next time we are in Houston.

There is a passion and love for wine @ sable gate which will definitely bring me back for another tasting. The 7 flight wine tasting is a must for the best experience and a true appreciation of their wine selection. We started with 3 whites, then offered 3 reds, and ended with a dessert wine. The cheese board was paired well with the wines brought out. It was a perfect date for me and my man's anniversary. We will be back:)-only suggestion are odd jobs like labeling should be done in the back.

Wow! A hidden gem of a winery in midtown. Loved Sable Gate… did a Sommelier Tasting of 7 wines and not one disappointed. I especially loved the Silenus-Bourbon Barrel Aged Pinot Grigio. The attention to detail here is superb. Bob, the winemaker is very knowledgeable and spent a good amount of time with us sharing the history of each wine and his process. Szilvia, the sommelier, was super interesting to talk with and very knowledgeable as well. Definitely make this a must stop for any tastings. They also do private events and parties.

Let’s start this review by saying this…If I could rate Sable Gate Winery with 6 Stars, I most certainly would.Szilvia, the owner, and certified sommelier, is not only a genuinely awesome, nice, sweet, and fantastic wine picking owner/operator, but possesses mind-reading skills as well. She was able to guess that my friend had a love for peach flavored drinks simply by staring down her forehead for a brief moment. And recommended for her to try the Princess George Sangria! 10/10 on that!!! Great stuff!From the moment we were greeted at door by Szilvia, to the time we shared our departing hug, we were all in awe by the experience at Sable Gate.You can tell that Sable Gate loves what they do, they love their customers, and they love the wine they offer!We can’t wait to return and share another fantastic time together at Sable Gate!Cheers & best of luck to continued success!

I have really enjoyed this place every time I've been. The wine is excellent and if the owner is there, he will go around and tell you anything you want to know about the wine he makes! They also have really good parking for being in midtown, so that's always a plus.

I go to Sable gate every time I am in Houston. Szilvia and Bob are awesome and always make us feel at home! The wine is amazing and so is the staff. We get a charcuterie tray every time and it never disappoints!! Very highly recommended!

Steak night...$24 for a steak (I subbed salmon since I don’t eat red meat), 2 sides...and a glass of wine. One of my best meals of 2020!! Everyone go check it out...what a deal!

Where do I begin?!?!? The ambiance was absolutely amazing! The staff was so welcoming and knowledgeable....Alexis and Bella really gave us the experience we were hoping for! The music playlist got us going from the time we walked in until the time we left. We indulged in a 7 flight wine tasting, charcuterie board, and lump crab dip...everything was so good! I highly recommend this winery and will definitely be back for more!

Nice wine bar with a cleared area used for dance classes. I did Zouk & Kizomba with 3 couples and 3 singles; slightly more men than women, and the women rotated around the male dance partners.Was difficult hearing the dance instructor instructions with his face mask on and with other ppl drinking/talking in the bar part of the room.

I don't know how anyone could have more than a five-star experience here. We were generously introduced to each of our wines in the flight of wines. Those who were responsible for introducing the wines were very knowledgeable and articulate about what we were about to taste. It was excellent! And I felt like we made friends with the staff all at the same time. We did have one of their amazing meat and cheese trays as well and I thought it was a beautiful compliment and plentiful. we will definitely be back and I strongly encourage anyone searching for an amazing time and delicious wines to take your friends and join up there.

Who would have thought we had a winery in Midtown! Went in on a whim a couple months ago and ended up staying for hours. If you're expecting a high end, fancy set up with the finest wines, maybe taper your expectations. However, if you're looking for knowledgeable owners, people who are passionate about wine science and helping others understand wine on a deeper level, stop by and say hello. Wine was delicious (more on sweeter side). I hear their space is used for a lot of events too.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and charming, the 2 bartenders go out of their way to make sure you find the tastiest wine for your palate, and every wine I tried was REALLY good. Pat was hilarious and really knows her stuff, too. I look forward to returning soon.

This was my first time trying a winery in houston! I was blown away the day i went it was empty i got to meet the owner Silvia. She was so delightful and very welcoming she gave us a little history about her winery and even offered new options to try. She was down to earth and so humbled her customer service is old school you don’t find that anywhere these days.If your in houston i 100% recommend this place to try!! They do have a parking lot so thats a plusThey have outdoor seating as well.They place is beautiful from the inside great for pictures a very clean establishment!

We were just in town for the weekend and stopped in to have a bite to eat! Their selection of wine is fantastic and the staff is very friendly. We ate lunch and did a wine tasting, loved it so much we bought 5 bottles, they were so great they even put one of our pictures on the labels!I do wish though that there would have been an option to tour their winery to see how everything was done

We'll see. I ordered six bottles of wine. I also ordered personal labels. unfortunately the owner didn't get the hint that we also wanted to buy a bottle to take home. Needless to say, we laughed in the parking lot. The owner really is an amazing entrepreneur. This really is a great place for wines.Update: The wines we got w/personalized labels were a hit. Best part was when a recipient said, there's no way this will get regifted. I sure hope it's because the wine is awesome...and our label is too funny to part with.

This was a great place to spend a Friday evening with friends! We had no issue finding a place to sit since it wasn’t too crowded. I live two blocks away so we chose to walk, but there is plenty of street parking around that is free and available in the evenings.The wine selection is great. We each chose to to do the flight which was only $9! The wines for the flight change frequently so you can try new ones and discover your favorite. You have options for purchasing by the glass or by the bottle well. Bottles can be purchased to go.Staff was very nice and helpful!

I recently moved in the area and had been dying to try it out once it opened. Currently they don't have a very expansive menu but will be rolling out new items slowly. Even more of a reason to come back and visit again. For this first visit I had their flight which included two whites, two reds and a desert wine. I also enjoyed their garlic hummus and a "build your own" Charcuterie board that was to die for! You can also join their wine club for a small monthly amount that gets you free wine tastings and 10% off of anything on site. I will definitely be returning and look forward to watching this place grow!
